These snowman cake balls took all afternoon to make - but they turned out so cute and tasty! We were excited to take them to Eddie's holiday party the next day. Okay, so I took a little break from digital scrapbooking. Like almost a year. Now I have a lot to catch up on! These two pages are from my mom's recent visit. They're both kinda dark. I think I'll do a bright page next.

This is all from scratch, but the layout was inspired by a scrapbook page by Deanna at Scrappy Gram's Corner. Making my own pages from scratch is kind of hit-or-miss for me. I enjoy knowing that I did all of the work of creating them without using anyone else's artwork. But I miss the pretty coordinating supplies.
Edit: I suppose it's obvious, but it occurs to me that I should mention that the Monopoly guy is ©Hasbro, and not my own creation, and the cornucopia is free clip art that had no restrictions on its use. Oh, and the font is "Scrapbook" by 2peas.

Gotta Pixel, a huge digital scrapbooking site, is celebrating its birthday this month, and its designers each posted free coordinating shabby-chic mini-kits on their personal blogs as part of a birthday blog train celebration. I downloaded a lot of them and used them for this layout. Here is the list of Gotta Pixel designers who have at least one element from their birthday blog train kit appearing on this page: Sara Ellis, Colie's Corner, Connie Prince, Cherie Shields, Dustybear, Elka Romero, Heather Taylor, and Jennifer Barrette. Oh, and the text "Beauty radiates from the inside out" is a copy of wordart by Bethany Harty. I was unable to download the wordart I found there that I wanted, so I recreated it as closely as I could. Bethany still deserves the credit, though, since I copied her design.

For whatever reason, this is probably my least favorite of the pages I've done so far. It sort of got away from me and didn't turn out like I'd envisioned it. But the nice thing about scrapping digitally is that I can always change it or completely start over if I want to. For this layout I used the "Winter Love" kit by Lily Rose Scraps.

I took these pictures of Angel and Olive at Rabbit Fest 2008, and I absolutely love them. The girls both look adorable and happy. I've wanted to scrapbook these photos ever since, so here it is! I'm experimenting with a kit I just downloaded from Shabby Princess: "Express Yourself" by Ronna Penner. I love the kit, although it's easy to go overboard with all the flowers and ribbon, and I may have been a little heavy-handed - the layout looks busier than I usually like. The tag near the bottom is from "Twilight" by Cora's Creations.

Another Lilah layout. This one was hard for me, because it's the first layout I've done with only ONE picture. I tend to want to fill up the page, so it was hard to feel "finished" with this one. I used a lot of different kits with this. There are elements from Harvest Spice, Dinner Party, Sun Porch by Amy Teets, Promise, and Happy Go Lucky (all from Shabby Princess) as well as Free Fourth by JenLin Designs and Sweet Sugar by Marie Stone for freedigitalscrapbooking.com. I washed out or completely altered the color on several of the elements.

This trip was yesterday, and I already have a scrapbook page done for it. I'm having way too much fun with this stuff. This one's pretty simple, but I had a bunch of pictures I wanted to include, and I didn't want it to look too busy. The letters and the red paper came from "Sun Porch" by Amy Teets, the background paper came from "Spontaneous Delight" by Carrie Stephens, and the hardware and ribbon came from "Happy Go Lucky." All of those kits are free from Shabby Princess.

This is about the busiest page I've attempted in terms of how many pictures I've crammed on here. I'm not really sure if I like how it turned out, but I'm experimenting with different styles. I DO like the fact that for this layout I wasn't really concerned about picking the "best" pictures, because part of the fun was using silly pictures that wouldn't usually make it onto a scrapbook page. I used the "Moody Blues" kit from Shabby Princess here.

The two-page layouts are much more difficult for me than the single page layouts. It's a challenge to make the pages different, yet work together. I actually create two different files - one for each page. In future I might try creating one large file and making the entire layout at once to see if it's easier that way. For this layout I used the "Urban Kiwi" set from Shabby Princess.

I made this in honor of our 6th anniversary today. Isn't he handsome? ...and I'm totally addicted. I made this blog because I wanted a place where I could upload the pages I make instead of emailing them out individually. I have a lot of catching up to do when it comes to scrapbooking our family over the last ten years or so, but it's a blast.
The first project I made digitally was a 5x7 album of a recent trip to visit family in upstate New York. In hindsight, I would make a lot of changes, but for a first effort I'm okay with it. I made it specifically as a gift for the family we visited, and I just mailed it off yesterday. Hope they like it! Here is the first page of the scrapbook along with my favorite of the two-page layouts inside:
