Julie

Gotta Pixel, a huge digital scrapbooking site, is celebrating its birthday this month, and its designers each posted free coordinating shabby-chic mini-kits on their personal blogs as part of a birthday blog train celebration. I downloaded a lot of them and used them for this layout. Here is the list of Gotta Pixel designers who have at least one element from their birthday blog train kit appearing on this page: Sara Ellis, Colie's Corner, Connie Prince, Cherie Shields, Dustybear, Elka Romero, Heather Taylor, and Jennifer Barrette. Oh, and the text "Beauty radiates from the inside out" is a copy of wordart by Bethany Harty. I was unable to download the wordart I found there that I wanted, so I recreated it as closely as I could. Bethany still deserves the credit, though, since I copied her design.

Love is cake decorating

For this page I used elements from the "Twilight" from Cora's Creations and "Sweet Sugar" by Marie Stones for freedigitalscrapbooking.com.

Easter Snow

For whatever reason, this is probably my least favorite of the pages I've done so far. It sort of got away from me and didn't turn out like I'd envisioned it. But the nice thing about scrapping digitally is that I can always change it or completely start over if I want to. For this layout I used the "Winter Love" kit by Lily Rose Scraps.

kindergarten & thrifty

The kindergarten page uses primarily elements from "Sun Porch" by Amy Teets. The word art ("remember this") is from "Express Yourself" by Ronna Penner. Both of those kits are from Shabby Princess. The tag is from the "Twilight" set by Cora's Creations.
For this Thrifty page I used the "It's Time" kit by Sande Krieger for Two Peas, the "Harvest Spice"  and "Promise" kits from Shabby Princess, and the tag from "Free Fourth" by JenLin Designs.

Angel and Olive

I took these pictures of Angel and Olive at Rabbit Fest 2008, and I absolutely love them. The girls both look adorable and happy. I've wanted to scrapbook these photos ever since, so here it is! I'm experimenting with a kit I just downloaded from Shabby Princess: "Express Yourself" by Ronna Penner. I love the kit, although it's easy to go overboard with all the flowers and ribbon, and I may have been a little heavy-handed - the layout looks busier than I usually like. The tag near the bottom is from "Twilight" by Cora's Creations.

Andrew's Masterpiece

I love these pictures of Andrew, and I had fun scrapbooking this page. I used supplies from "Express Yourself" by Ronna Penner and "Spontaneous Delight" by Carrie Stephens, both from Shabby Princess, and embellishments from "Pens and Pencils" by Efie's Design.

Hike

This was such a fun day, and all the mini-disasters only made it more memorable. For this hiking layout I modified the Linen Caramel paper from CottageArts.net for the background and used the journaling strips from the "Harvest Spice" kit by Shabby Princess. The twine is mine.

Red Tree

I decided to try another one-photo layout about the beautiful foliage we're enjoying. For this layout I used elements from "Sun Porch" by Amy Teets, "Fall," "Happy Go Lucky," and "Sweet Serenity," all from Shabby Princess, and Free Fourth by JenLin Designs for the dangling tag (I use that tag a ton!).

Lilah the second

Another Lilah layout. This one was hard for me, because it's the first layout I've done with only ONE picture. I tend to want to fill up the page, so it was hard to feel "finished" with this one. I used a lot of different kits with this. There are elements from Harvest Spice, Dinner Party, Sun Porch by Amy Teets, Promise, and Happy Go Lucky (all from Shabby Princess) as well as Free Fourth by JenLin Designs and Sweet Sugar by Marie Stone for freedigitalscrapbooking.com. I washed out or completely altered the color on several of the elements.

Lilah!

This has to be the pinkest project I've ever done! All supplies are from the "Sweet Sprinkles" set from Shabby Princess except for the flowers, which are from freedigitalscrapbooking.com.

Power Trip

This trip was yesterday, and I already have a scrapbook page done for it. I'm having way too much fun with this stuff. This one's pretty simple, but I had a bunch of pictures I wanted to include, and I didn't want it to look too busy. The letters and the red paper came from "Sun Porch" by Amy Teets, the background paper came from "Spontaneous Delight" by Carrie Stephens, and the hardware and ribbon came from "Happy Go Lucky." All of those kits are free from Shabby Princess.

new year's eve 2008

This is about the busiest page I've attempted in terms of how many pictures I've crammed on here. I'm not really sure if I like how it turned out, but I'm experimenting with different styles. I DO like the fact that for this layout I wasn't really concerned about picking the "best" pictures, because part of the fun was using silly pictures that wouldn't usually make it onto a scrapbook page. I used the "Moody Blues" kit from Shabby Princess here.

roller skating double layout

The two-page layouts are much more difficult for me than the single page layouts. It's a challenge to make the pages different, yet work together. I actually create two different files - one for each page. In future I might try creating one large file and making the entire layout at once to see if it's easier that way. For this layout I used the "Urban Kiwi" set from Shabby Princess.

Patriots Game

We had a blast at this preseason game! It was the first NFL game for us, and of course we saw our favorite team, the New England Patriots. The supplies I used to make this layout came from "FreePea Football" by Tia Bennett, a free kit from Two Peas, and from "Sun Porch" by Amy Teets, free from Shabby Princess.

Baby Doll

My beautiful niece Madison with her new baby brother. She really did say that. It's typical Maddy - funny and outspoken. I used "Spontaneous Delight" by Carrie Stephens to make this layout. It's a free kit available from Shabby Princess.

Katie

These beautiful ladies will likely be the subject of many more layouts! I made this page using elements from "Promise" and "Happy Go Lucky" by Shabby Princess, and "Sun Porch" by Amy Teets, also a free download from Shabby Princess. I also used the "Scrapbook" and "Gift" fonts from Two Peas.

Eddie layouts!

This layout about Eddie's 32nd birthday was created with elements from the "Urban Kiwi" and "Dinner Party" kits from Shabby Princess, along with the journaling frame out of the "Seventies" kit from Two Peas. The title is printed in the "Gift" font from Two Peas.

I made this in honor of our 6th anniversary today. Isn't he handsome? I used elements from the "Urban Kiwi" and "Sun Porch" by Amy Teets kits from Shabby Princess, the "Free Love" and "Treasure" kits by Rhona Farrer for Two Peas, and the "Free Fourth" kit by JenLin Designs. The words in the arrow and on the tag are printed in the "Scrapbook" font from Two Peas.

Dancing and Pennies

I love these two pages. I made them both with the "Seventies" kit by Tia Bennett from Two Peas. The tag on the Dancing layout is from "Free Fourth" by JenLin DesignsThe fonts on the Dancing layout include "Gift" and "Scrapbook," both free from Two Peas.

Friends double layout and Grandma's visit

This is the first 12x12 two-page layout I've done. The kit is one of my favorites, "Promise" by Shabby Princess. I used the same kit to make this page about my mom's recent visit to Virginia:

very basic page

This is the simplest 12x12 scrapbook page I have made; it took about 10 minutes. I like it because it's simple and clean-looking, although I wouldn't mind a little more embellishment. I did it mainly as a challenge to see how fast I could make a page. The kit I used is called "It's Time" - a free kit by Sande Krieger downloaded from Two Peas.

I just started digital scrapbooking...

...and I'm totally addicted. I made this blog because I wanted a place where I could upload the pages I make instead of emailing them out individually. I have a lot of catching up to do when it comes to scrapbooking our family over the last ten years or so, but it's a blast.
The first project I made digitally was a 5x7 album of a recent trip to visit family in upstate New York. In hindsight, I would make a lot of changes, but for a first effort I'm okay with it. I made it specifically as a gift for the family we visited, and I just mailed it off yesterday. Hope they like it! Here is the first page of the scrapbook along with my favorite of the two-page layouts inside:

The design elements I used for this album come from the "Fall" and "Festival" scrapbook kits from Shabby Princess.
